As the worldwide mobility of people, capital, products, and language resources increases, the fields of applied linguistics and writing studies have responded proactively. One of the responses is the launch of the Writing Education Across Borders (WEAB) Conference, which brought together scholars from applied linguistics, education, rhetoric, and writing studies. The first conference was held in State College, Pennsylvania in September 2011, and the second one in Guangzhou, China in May 2016. The third meeting will return to State College, Pennsylvania in September 2019 on the theme “Writing Education and the Resurgence of Nationalism.” Please join us by submitting a proposal by May 1. See the call for proposals and the list of featured speakers in the CFP page.
See you this fall!
