Penn State’s Office of Global Programs is the center for all things international at Penn State. The office provides services for international students coming to Penn State and Penn State students studying. Global Programs provided the following information to help international students who accept their offers of admission to Penn State:
After you accept your offer of admission and pay your acceptance fees, the Directorate of International Student and Scholar Advising (DISSA)/Pre-Arrival Advising office will send you an email containing instructions and a link that will allow you to access their secure online system, iStart. It may take 2-4 business days after paying your acceptance fees for DISSA to receive that information through the Penn State system and generate your email.
After logging into to iStart, you will gain access to a pre-arrival ahecklist. This checklist will help guide you as a newly admitted international student through a majority of what needs to be completed prior to your arrival on campus. Checklist items include: how to request an I-20/DS-2019; creating your personalized shipping request (to receive your I-20/DS-2019); and how to apply for a visa. Once you have been issued a Penn State I-20/DS-2019, you can return to iStart to complete the remaining items on the checklist.
More information about what to do after the I-20/DS-2019 has been issued at: http://www.global.psu.edu/international_students/student_visa.cfm. You can also email a pre-arrival adviser at: email@example.com.
If you have any additional admissions questions, don’t forget that you can join Penn State international admission counselors students and college representatives for an online chat on Thursday, March 14 from 0900 – 1400 EST (GMT-4:00). Or, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
