The “Happiest 5k on the Planet” comes to Happy Valley!

Promoting health and having fun? It’s no surprise that Penn State’s Homecoming Committee is bringing America’s most popular 5K to Happy Valley this weekend!

The Color Run™ 5K is the first paint race of its kind, and has grown to be one of the largest race series in the country. The race focuses on making running accessible for everyone and promoting healthy living, and in their words, the race is not about speed and performance, it’s about “a color crazy day with friends and family.”

As such, it is no surprise that this happy, fun race is coming to State College as the inaugural event of Penn State’s 2013 Homecoming Weekend on September 29, 2013. Anyone can register for this event and join in our celebration of Penn State pride. Registration is still open online!

Homecoming has been a tradition at Penn State since our first Homecoming game was played on October 9, 1920, against Dartmouth. Ninety-three years later Penn State students continue to celebrate traditions and honor their pride by participating in many old and new events each year.

Other Homecoming Events include a dance competition, carnival, ice cream social, a parade, and of course the Homecoming football game. Check out the full schedule of events on their website.
