Happy November! As you might have seen yesterday, the Undergraduate Admissions Office had some fun celebrating Halloween. But, now it’s time for us to get back to work processing transcripts and working with high school students around the country to help them complete their applications.
Penn State does not have binding early action or early decision admission, but we do have a priority filing date of November 30. All students whose applications are complete by this date — including transcripts and standardized test scores — will be in our first review group and have the best chance of being admitted to their first choice campus and major. We also guarantee an admission decision by January 31 to those who apply by November 30.
If you haven’t started your application, there’s still time to submit the online portion and get your transcripts and test scores to us by November 30. If you don’t get everything here by that date, we will still review your application, but admission may be a little more competitive. Please note that some of our programs including nursing and the accelerated premedical-medical program have strict November 30 deadlines; see our dates and deadlines page for more information.
If you have already started or submitted your application, you can continue to check your status in MyPennState to ensure your application is complete; and then ultimately, you can find your admission decision there, too. Most students hear from us in December or January.
As always if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
