With students wrapped up in finals, tours done for 2013, and Christmas and New Year’s right around the corner, the holiday bug has bit us hard here in Undergraduate Admissions.
Each year we celebrate the season with office festivities which include a cookie cook-off, funny holiday pics of colleagues when they were kids and, my personal favorite, a door-decorating contest.
The door-decorating has been known to be taken to insane levels. Last year’s winners were the tech team with a full video rendition of the 12 days of Christmas in front of a mocked up green screen. They even made doors decorated to correspond to each of the 12 days. My suite shouldn’t have even bothered with our awesome “Baby It’s Cold Outside” snowman puppet show.
Despite having an impressive legacy to combat, this year didn’t disappoint either. Below are some examples of all the creative ways we express our holiday enthusiasm here in Penn State’s Undergraduate Admissions Office. I’m proud to say I helped put together this year’s winning door:
While ours was great, there was a lot of tough competition, as usual. All our tour guides as the Hoos in Hooville, aka Tourville, was a personal favorite.
We hope you enjoy the doors and, more importantly, your holidays.
Happy Holidays, from us to you!
