Alrighty, for all you people who stop watching football after your team is knocked out I am here to give you an update of the whole divisional round. But, before I get into to that I just want to say although technically the Eagles finished last in our division, we can be upset with our team at all. There were some real bright moments coming out of this year. Carson Wentz, our savor looked great for a rookie who’s O-Line was in shambles thanks to injuries and May I be bold enough to say the receivers finally found their hands in the end of the season. What more could we of asked for then to cap the season off with a win over Dallas who was favorite to win the super bowl.

That being said the divisional round was one of shock and firsts. The first game was the Falcons versus the Seahawks in an interesting matchup of the best offense in the NFL versus what is thought of as the best defensive personnel in people like Sherman and Chancellor. This game did not fail to disappoint in a Falcons victory with a final of 36-20.

After that game came the match up of The Texans versus the Patriots in a game where the Patriots were 16 points favorites heading into the game. The Texans who had the best Defense in the NFL statistic wise held the Patriots to a slow start but, Tom Brady went to work in the second half continuing his dominance since returning from his suspension. The Patriots rolled with a final score of 34-16.

Then came the match everyone was waiting for and that is the Cowboys versus the Packers in a showdown for the ages. Coming after the infamous Dez Bryant catch/ no catch game last year ending in a Packers win. This game was a shootout that came down to a frenzy of 3 field goals in the last 1:38 of the game. After Crosby put the packers up by three, Dak lead the Cowboys back down the field to tie the game up with 0:35 seconds left on the clock for one last drive by the packers. Crosby hit another field goal to win the game but a time out was called right before the snap so he again attempted the field goal where he again hit it as time expired to win the game in a final 34-31, Packers. The Eagles fan in me would be lying saying I wasn’t happy seeing the Cowgirl’s lose yet another playoff game and leaving the field with another disappointment.

The divisional round came to a conclusion with the Steelers’ versus the Chief’s. Not going to lie this game was kind of a snooze with the Chiefs being the only team to score a touchdown (actually two touchdowns). Hearing that you would think the Chief’s won right? As Donald Trump would say, WRONG. The Steelers’ secured their victory win with six field goals coming from the foot of Boswell. The game ended in a score of 18-14 sending the Steelers’ to the AFC Championship.

This leaves us to look forward to the match ups of the Steelers’ vs. The Patriots in the AFC Championship and The Falcons vs The Packers in the NFC Championship. Although, the birds won’t be playing anytime soon, that doesn’t mean we stop Bleeding Green here in Wentzlyvania.
