The PSU Weed Science program participates in a long-term cropping system experiment (LTAR) that evaluates ecological strategies for an average-sized, Pennsylvania dairy farm. This project is led by Dr. Heather Karsten and USDA-ARS researchers. As part of this project, we are comparing standard weed management practices in a 6-yr rotation with IWM practices, using intensified cover crop management in order to reduce herbicide inputs.
