Graduate students: Interested in conducting WEF-related sustainable development research abroad?
Submit your application for a 1 – 6 month internship in Colombia, Ecuador, Germany, Mexico, Peru, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom! Selected students receive an allowance for round-trip travel and lodging at the project location, as well as leadership and professional development training through a special topics “Co-design towards Sustainability” course (EME 597, Section 5) offered through Penn State in the spring semester. Students may coordinate their internship to occur between May and December 2024.
To apply, upload your resume, transcript, one-page statement of research interests, and contact information for two references. Your research statement should describe how working at your chosen location will contribute to your graduate thesis and career aspirations, and should thoughtfully reflect on sustainable development, the water-energy-food nexus, and the value of international experiences. Graduate students from any institution in the United States (US) are encouraged to apply and US citizenship is not required. Applications are due October 15, 2023; letters of recommendation are due from your references by October 25, 2023 (they will receive a personalized link to upload their statements after you submit your application).
