My Weird Experience “At” Penn State

This week at Penn State was most definitely abnormal for me to say the least. Let’s start with the fact that I spent half of my week back home in Pittsburgh. Since we had our “spring break” on Wednesday, I decided that Tuesday night, I would go home and spend a couple of nights with my family, because I wanted to see my dad, stepmom, siblings, and pets. I got home around 5pm on Tuesday evening, and we had Buffalo Wild Wings Takeout for dinner.

After dinner, my cousin decided that he would also come up and visit for a little while. This was nice because I have not seen him since before I moved in to Penn State, and we are really close. We played street hockey with my brothers, and then it was time for me to go to my hockey game. It was nice to be able to make a game and see all of my high school friends again, even if we lost.

I then decided that the next day, I was not going to come back home to school, but I was going to spend another night at home and drive up Thursday morning before class (that was a mistake). I made the very spontaneous decision to go along with my brother to the South Side of Pittsburgh at midnight and get tattoos together. They are not matching tattoos, but we both got something that was meaningful to each of us.

On my way home, I must have driven across something in my driveway, because when I went to leave at 6AM the next morning, my tire was completely flat. Surely enough, on my way home from the city, I hit a nail and it stuck in my tire, letting all of the air out. At this point, making it to class was impossible, for it was too early for any of the tire repair centers to be opened. By the time the shop opened, class had already ended, and I was 2 hours and 30 minutes away.

I also had a writing consultation at the learning center regarding a paper for my English 15 class that I nearly missed. I got back to campus just in time to park my car and sprint to the Bouke Building to make it on time. Good thing I did, because if I hadn’t, I would not have gotten so many inspiring ideas from my tutor that are going to help me write the best paper that I can.

All in all, I had a very entertaining week that I will not forget anytime soon.
