As the Summer Semester enters the second half, it is time to really start to enjoy the experiences that I have had. I think that everyone should entertain the idea of beginning their Penn State experience during the summer instead of the fall. The summer allows for students to get to know the campus under a less stressed atmosphere. I have met some of my best friends while attending the summer. It has had such a positive effect on my life and has only made me more excited for the fall to begin and to get into the full swing of things.
I am now able to confidently say that I am fully prepared for what college has to offer. I have had the opportunity to get two classes under my belt, get a proper sleep schedule going for myself, and find a balance for free and work time. I now know what to expect when it comes to exams, papers, and assignments in terms of what professors expect, what kinds of content they want to see, structure, etc.
On Tuesday, I went golfing with my friend Henry because it was a nice day. We played a full 18 holes and just went out there, talked, and had a great time. After that, we stopped in at Cane’s to get some dinner. We decided to get together with our friends Phil and Sam and go to the driving range on Thursday. We went out and rented a bucket of balls each to drive.
After we hit the range, I dropped my friends back off at the dorm and picked up my friend Avery. We drove around for awhile and just caught up, talked about hockey, and talked about home. She went to a high school that was close to the one that I went to.
