Have you ever wondered how a higher dimensional being might perceive our lives? Or what it might see?

Perhaps it can see every event that has occurred in the past, at the same time, where each unit of space is overlapped with past, present, and future…

The movie Interstellar illustrates this concept exceedingly well. In the movie, a man is sent into a wormhole, in which he is then placed into a higher dimension. In the higher dimension, he can see the same point in space at every moment of that point’s existence.

(That probably sounds confusing! Here is a visual of this concept):

 

 

In the movie, the man views a room in his house at every moment of time.

Here is another example of this idea:

Say you were sitting on your living room couch one morning thinking about what a fifth dimensional being would see if it were looking at you in that moment.

The being would not just see you sitting on the couch in that moment, but it would also see every moment of existence for the place where the couch was located. Every single thing that happened to that area of space- such as, perhaps, the Revolutionary War, or all of the trees that were there before you built your house, or the ocean that existed there before Pangea split into continents. The being could even see so far as the beginning of the universe where that unit in space didn’t even exist yet.

This being would not only be able to see the past, or the negative linear infinity, like the beginning of the Universe, but it would also be able to see the future, or the positive linear infinity, of time.

 

 

It can see a week from you sitting on the couch. It can even see, perhaps, ten or twenty years forward into time, after you have graduated college and started your career. It can see your old neighborhood being demolished to make way for an expanding city. It can see the buildings that were built on top of the place where your house used to be. It can even see the sun expanding into a red giant, engulfing the entire earth, and the place where your house used to be. It sees all of these things in the same second.

As it looks at you, it sees the beginning and the end of the Universe.

All of these moments in time overlap to form one moment for each unit of space to the being.

I’m going to try and illustrate this for you:

We can start with how the being sees the beginning of the universe, where your house is going to be in the future.

 

 

Next it can see the creation of the earth, it can see the exact spot on earth where your house is going to be.

 

 

Then it sees Pangea, and it sees the part of the ocean where your house is going to be located.

 

 

 

After Pangea splits it can see where your house is going to be built- on a certain continent.

 

 

At this point we can observe a forest that has grown in the Northeast region of the landmass that we have today named “North America”. The being can see that your house is going to take the place of the forest.

 

The being can see that after mankind colonizes all of the continents, war breaks out between humans. It sees that war is raging on the spot where your house is going to be built.

 

It can see all of the trees in the forest chopped down to build a neighborhood in which your house is now located.

 

 

The being can also see after your neighborhood has been demolished to make way for a new city. It sees buildings in place of where your house used to be.

 

 

The time period of events that took place here lasted approximately 13 billion years to the human perception. However, a fifth dimensional being would see all of these events, “vastly separated” by time, in ONE MOMENT, the same moment. It would look something like this:

 

 

 

 

 

Beginning of Time + Beginning of Earth + Pangea + Separated Pangea…

 

 

 

 

 

…+ Forest + Revolutionary War + Your House + City of Tomorrow

 

 

So, all of these different events happened to the SAME unit of space and overlap in the eyes of a fifth dimensional being.

 

What if this “fifth dimensional being” is God?

God can see the past…

 

“Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.”

(Ephesians 1:4-5)

 

…the present…

“…He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered His kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. 9 God has now revealed to us His mysterious will regarding Christ- which is to fulfill His own good plan.” (Ephesians 1: 7-9)

 

…and the future…

“And this is the plan:

At the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ- everything in heaven and on earth.”

(Ephesians 1: 10)

 

…all at the same time. 

This is how God is able to make assurances to mankind, because He can see you.

He can see you in the Universe before it even existed, before Pangea split, before the continents had settlers, before the Revolutionary War, before your neighborhood was built, now, and a thousand years into the future, after the sun dies, after the Universe dies;

You are alive and you exist in it all, overlapped with and within all of creation.
