3D bioprinting of functional tissues
In this project, we will engineer a newly emerged class of microfluidic-enabled hydrogels, made up of tiny beads of modified gelatin, to mimic the extracellular matrix and support cells post-3D printing. This will enable us advance the 3D bioprinting of a range of tissues, such as skin, muscle, bone, cornea, lung, and so forth.

Nanoengineering cellulose for combating antibiotic resistance
We are developing nanoparticles of cellulose, the most abundant biopolymer in the world, to address antibiotic resistance, which is one of grand challenges of the 21st century.

Nanocelluloses for sustainable development
We engineer nanocelluloses to replace petroleum-derived products, such as plastics and water treatment additives, for a “greener” future.
