General body is open to everyone and anyone.
For the first half of general body meetings, writers share their work to the group. Writers can opt for whether or not they would like to receive feedback after they read their piece. Each artist has 5 minutes of reading and discussion time for their work.
In the past, people have shared songs, short stories, poems, vignettes, prose, haikus, and more. W.O.R.D.S. wants to provide you with a platform from which you can express yourself freely.
Not a writer? Well, you’ve still got a story! The second half of general body meetings is discussion-centered. Each week, we pick a topic that is weighing on our minds, and bring our perspectives to the group. In this way, W.O.R.D.S. aims to give people a chance to share their story in a supportive environment. You never know what you’re going to learn each week– sometimes you discover something new about the people around you, sometimes you walk away with a whole new perspective.
Everyone is welcome to attend both halves of the general body meetings.
To join W.O.R.D.S., there are no dues or attendance requirements.
This semester (Fall 2016) W.O.R.D.S. meets in 109 Osmond Building (across from the HUB), Tuesday nights at 8. We would LOVE to see you there!
