Food/Drink:

State College may be in the center of Pennsylvania, but the diverse population of Penn State has brought flavors from around the world to the area. Just a stroll downtown reveals a wide range of cuisine for your palate—from Japanese to Indian to Cajun— all within a short walk from the campus. If you want to stretch your legs and taste buds, there are plenty of fine dining locations within a short distance of town. Looking for a craft-brewed adventure or tavern fare? Pick up your passport and try out the Central PA Tasting Trail.  Don’t forget to stop for the cherry on top—our Creamery!

Attractions:

It doesn’t matter here if you like the urban crawl of a downtown shopping district or the “get away from it all” feel of a long hike. The campus is just minutes from both and everything in-between!  Want to stay on campus with your free time? You’re in luck! The University offers plenty of educational and relaxing opportunities to explore. Visit our beautiful Arboretum on the north side of campus and swing by the  Palmer Museum of Art on your way back to the Nittany Lion Inn, or peruse the All-Sports Museum and take a walk to the heart of campus for the HUB-Robeson Galleries.
