Shengchen received his Ph. D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from  Xiamen University, Xiamen, China. He is interested in understanding the role of fascin in lung cancer metastasis and cancer metabolism. In his spare time, he enjoys movies, spending time with his friends, hiking and exploring the beautiful Pennsylvania.

 


 

 Xiuchao Wang, M. D., Ph. D.- Postdoctoral Scholar

Xiuchao is a surgical oncologist who received his M. D. and Ph. D. training in the Tianjin Cancer Hospital and Tianjin Medical University. His clinical interest is focusing on the surgical treatment of pancreatic cancer. He studied the role of cancer FOXP3 in control of the immunesuppressive tumor microenvironment in pancreatic cancer. He joined the lab in December 2017 and is currently studying the role of mitochondrial calcium signaling in the metabolic stress resistance and oxidative stress response in pancreatic cancer models.

 


 

Eric Martine, B. S.- Research Technician

Eric received a B.S. in Biology at Susquehanna University in 2018. During his time at Susquehanna, he conducted research on the impact of low pressure systems on Drosophila melanogaster ovarian development. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, spending time with his friends, and playing with his dog. He hopes to attend graduate school in the near future.  

 


 Jiaxin Kang, M. S.- Visiting Student

 Jiaxin is a graduate student from South China Agricultural University. She received a M. S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from South China Agricultural University in 2016 and a B. S. in Life Science from Hubei Normal University in 2013. She is currently investigating the role of fascin in YAP/TAZ signaling and mitophagy.
