Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today, I will be doing a deep dive into foundation, an essential element of creating a flawless base. Foundation serves as the bae any and all makeup worn after ward and can truly change the overall appearance of your final face. Whether you prefer to wear your a thicker, full coverage foundation, or a lightweight skin tint, if applied with care and precision, any of these options will be great choices for elevating your look. Shopping in the makeup industry can be incredibly stressful, but I’m hoping this blog will point some of you in the right direction.
High Coverage
When it comes to choosing a high-coverage foundation, there are several compelling reasons why people might opt for such a product. First and foremost, high-coverage foundations offer unparalleled camouflage for imperfections, including blemishes, scars, discoloration, and uneven skin tone. This level of coverage provides individuals with the confidence to address their skin concerns and achieve a flawless complexion.
Additionally, high-coverage foundations can serve as a versatile tool in any makeup routine. They allow for buildable coverage, meaning users have the flexibility to customize the level of coverage based on their specific needs and preferences. Whether you’re looking for a sheer veil of color or a completely flawless finish, high-coverage foundations can deliver the desired result with ease.
Ultimately, high coverage products provide you with a lot of flexibility in your make up and provides versatility. Some of my favorite brands for high coverage products are Estée Lauder and the Maybelline Fit ME line.
Mid Coverage
Little to No Coverage
Like many other aspects of the beauty industry, foundation has come such a long way. Even just thinking back to a decade ago, people were wearing foundation shades that didn’t match their skin, and the formulas used were cake-y and felt outright gross on the skin. Now, with better methods and technology, there’s practically a correct shade for every skin tone and foundations can actually feel nice when worn!
Personally, I have never used a full coverage foundation, though I’m dying to give it a try. I tend to just stick to a light skin tint– that way there’s less margin for error… Out of all the brands I’ve used, the Fenty Beauty Blurring skin tint has been my favorite thus far. Though I was wondering, do you have any recommendations for a full coverage foundation for individuals with more oily skin?
Hi Naeema! I really enjoyed reading this post as I too really like to learn about different makeup products, brands, and formulas. Foundation is always a product I’ve struggled greatly with – struggling to find a lightweight yet high coverage product that compliments my skin. I think you broke down the differences and defining features of both coverage options really well. My favorite part is where you provide product recommendations, and I was actually somewhat surprised that you included Fit ME under the high coverage section. I use this foundation and have always considered it to be low coverage, so this got me thinking about the formulation.
I think it would be a cool idea in your next post to expand on these comments and further your product recommendations. I’d love to hear more about your personal experience with certain brands and collections, especially when it comes to factors like skin type (oily, dry, combination, etc) as well.
