The FDA has not approved the vaccine yet so there is a lot of legal uncertainty with the whole getting vaccinated thing. The FDA agrees with the CDC and the scientists doing studies on the vaccine but they say that there is still not enough information on the vaccine to approve it. The Pfizer vaccine already reached the FDA standards the only thing now is the Moderna and the Johnson and Johnson vaccines. Once they are approved the FDA can start pushing for all Americans to get vaccinated against covid and people’s lives can get back to normal. The main worry is that the vaccine has a bunch of cost but also a bunch of benefits but the research needs to be done before the FDA can approve it so it is as safe as possible for the American people.
I think this is smart thinking by the FDA since the covid vaccine is not like any other vaccine that has been around. It is a mRNA vaccine which works differently than any other one so there is a lot of trial and error and for something that is FDA approved it has to be known that is is one hundred percent safe. So I hope that the research is coming fast with all the people getting the vaccine and the CDC is able to conduct a lot of studies and get the research that the FDA needs so they can approve it. I really just want things to go back to normal I really miss normal life and not having to worry about a virus all the time. It is really taking a toll on me and my ability to learn in college so I just hope that we as a nation can eradicate this virus and finally be safe.
