Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?
I chose industrial engineering because it allows me to learn skills in both engineering and business. It is a diverse field that allows me to pursue careers in industries all over the world.

Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?
The main reason why I choose IE as a career field is because it opens up a field of versatility for me to develop soft business skills, and at the same time learn the technical knowledge behind it! It gives me the opportunity to learn new things!

Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?
I chose IE because it gave me a good mix of engineering and business. I liked the idea of being an engineer, but I did not want to build anything, so IE was perfect for me.

Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?
Problem solving and logical thinking in an orderly manner to produce a plan of action was intuitive to me growing up. Being an industrial engineer is the same thing and that’s why I chose this major.
IE Experience
I have not gained internship experience yet. However, I worked as a Conference Services and Common Desk Operations team member at PSU over the summer of 2023. I gained valuable experience from this since the interpersonal skills, organization and teamwork needed for the job are the same skills engineers are required to master in a real world setting.
Fun Fact
My high school was around 7000 feet above sea level in the mountains.

I have gained real world IE experience interning at
EVC working with different teams on various government contracts that they have. Their business provides real world IE experience by allowing me to apply IE principles to optimize processes, help manage projects, and improve efficiency in large scale environments.

Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?
I chose industrial engineering as my major because I wanted to have a wide range of skills at the end of my academic career. Every company could use a team of industrial engineers to eliminate waste and continually improve efficiency, whether they realize it or not. This means a ton of opportunities; you just need to put yourself out there and show the strong technical background we develop as Industrial Engineers here at Penn State.
