2001: Student Art Exhibit in the Morrison Gallery

Student Art Show Article The Morrison Gallery, located in the new Penn State Harrisburg Library that was completed in 2000, allowed for more exhibition space on campus.   In 2001, the first individual student art exhibit was featured in the Morrison Gallery.  Graduate student Sally Banks, displayed her work entitled “Shellscapes” during the fall semester of 2001.  Her large oil and acrylic paintings were a part of her Master of Arts degree in Humanities.  A gallery talk and artist’s reception were held in the Morrison in late September.  Linda Ross, former Assistant Professor of Education and Humanities, said of Sally’s work: “Her intense passion for seashells, and their myriad historical, biological, literary, and mythological connections, is communicated in her dramatic and mysterious paintings.”
