During the 1990s, efforts were made to make the College’s grounds more beautiful.  Penn State Harrisburg annually celebrates Earth Day, and 1997 was no different.  An expo held on April 18th in front of the Science and Technology Building involved several clubs, including the Society of Environmental Engineers, who aimed to promote environmental awareness.  A tree planting ceremony was held in front of the Olmsted Building as a part of the event, and multiple campus clubs and organizations donated trees to improve campus grounds.
