Women in Business

Article: Women in Business: A Trend That Is Growing
For decades, men have been the dominant gender in the business industry. When you watch movies or television, the men that wear nice suits in the office are often the ones that run the show. But, times are changing and women are now creating a large presence in the business world. This article touches upon the advantages to having women in the workplace. These advantages include:
  • A Different Perspective
  • Different Experiences than Men
  • Creation of Unique Strategies.
Many people might assume that because men have always thrived as the majority in the workplace, that they will continue to be the majority. But I feel that this will soon change due to women becoming more engaged within leadership roles in business in the past few decades.
To be specific, Weforum.org claims that there has been a significant increase in female CEO’s within the Fortune 500 companies. In 2002, there was only 7 female CEO’s within America’s Fortune 500 corporations. In March of 2022, it was reported that there are now 74 female CEO’s leading the country’s top 500 corporations. With that being said, in the past 20 years, the leading businesses have added over 65 female CEO’s. This data proves that women are working their way up within leadership positions, which is paving the way for businesswomen in the future. Recently, there have been movements and events that have encouraged women to achieve their goals, no matter the adversity that they are facing.
I highly encourage you to take a look at this article. I am often inspired by all of the women that I see taking executive roles in corporations, but there is still a lot of growth that needs to be done for women in the workplace.
