Penn State Altoona to host Broadway actor from Hamilton Bryan Terrell Clark

Bryan Terrell Clark will speak on campus Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

Clark is an actor and singer-songwriter, known best for his starring role as George Washington in Hamilton: An American Musical on Broadway. He has also starred as the iconic Marvin Gaye in Motown: The Musical and performed in Broadway’s acclaimed Fences.

Clark’s presentation, “From Baltimore to Broadway,” features stories from his life as well as performances of songs from Hamilton and some original material. Free tickets for the event can be picked up at the Misciagna Box Office and the Center for Student and Civic Engagement (126 Slep) beginning Monday, Feb. 11.

Musically, Clark has written for such artists as Jussie Smollett and Mary J. Blige, and he has performed with Brandy, Patti LaBelle, Ciara, and Michael Bublé. He is now in the studio recording his solo album.

Clark is the co-founder of inDEFINED, an initiative launched in 2017 that inspires and teaches young people to use their voices to erase constrictive labels in our society. The online apparel brand raises money for various charities and philanthropic organizations and supports arts education for at-risk youth.
