Project Summary

Overview

Our team was tasked with addressing significant inefficiencies in Curtze Food Service’s current systems, specifically with their subsidiary, North Shore Fresh Seafood. After analyzing our sponsor’s current system’s issues and gathering requirements, we have redesigned Curtze’s system to streamline operations and resolve present issues. Optimizing data management and user workflows, updating and redesigning the front and back ends of the application, and implementing key system features have been integral parts of providing our sponsor with an application that meets their needs.

Objectives

● Redesign and modernize the North Shore Application to enhance employee efficiency and
productivity
● Consolidate functionalities from multiple applications into a unified interface so sales
representatives have all necessary features and information easily accessible in one place
● Architect and improve backend, API, and frontend to streamline workflow and sales processes

Approach

● Reviewed Curtze’s current systems and analyzed existing processes, identifying main issues
● Gathered various differents needs and requirements from client
● Prioritized features and categorized requirements based on level of necessity
● Generated potential solutions, frontend designs, and backend architectures for new system
● Communicated with sponsor on a weekly basis to receive continuous feedback on system progress
● Adjusted system design and requirements based on criticisms, suggestions, and needs of client
● Tested different aspects of system utilizing different testing methods to ensure proper functionality
● Demonstrated system to client, walking through common use cases to validate fulfillment of
requirements
