For the glory of Old State and for our founders strong and great, we have always and will forever continue to raise the song! We are a university defined by our success and traditions, both in the classroom and on the playing field. Penn State football has become an extremely large part of the culture of The Pennsylvania State University. Without Joe Paterno and his 409 wins, we would not be the powerhouse that we are today! Unfortunately after the actions of Jerry Sandusky plagued the Penn State football program, Joe Paterno was fired and his statue was removed. It is time for Joe Pa to be honored for all of the great things that he has done for our university! The memory of Joe Pa is still very clear on campus. From eating “Peachy Paterno” ice cream at The Creamery to studying in the Paterno Library, the legacy of Joe Pa is still honored. It is time to honor him even further by returning the original statue to Beaver Stadium. I believe by fundraising, creating a marketing campaign, and signing a petition, that we can once again restore the statue and the honor of Joe Pa. Therefore, I am asking you as Penn State family to help return the statue. With your generous donations and effort to sign a petition, we will be able to boost the public opinion of Joe Paterno, restore the statue, convince the administration to return the statue, and ultimately install the statue! With your help Joe Pa can be returned to his rightful spot forever cast in bronze!
