Wandering…

On College Avenue
Near The Corner Room
Admiring
Bright minds in full bloom
I pause
Wonder
As a spectrum of cars
Too speed-hungry, too foreign
Complete the scene.

A map personified
By thoughts racing
Eyes widened
Minds spoken
I pause
Wonder
As pinpoints of countries and towns
Disguised as people
Recreate Pangaea.

Velvet black blanket
Shielding us all
As warm summer turns
To cuddle-weather fall
I pause
Wonder
As a thought appears…
Why look up to gaze at the stars
When all along, they’ve shone at street level?

Have you, too, seen the twinkling in the world’s eyes?
