An online series of informal learning materials that combine contemporary beats with animation to teach 8-12 year-olds about entrepreneurial basics. It also is the background for the Accelerator Rap Challenge, a national contest for undergrads!
Entrepreneurship increasingly is associated with economic mobility for individuals and economic development for communities. Despite the many accelerators that now operate around the country, the demographics of innovative entrepreneurship remain unchanged; women, people of color, and individuals from working class backgrounds are under-represented throughout the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Accelerator Rap! is meant to reach young people who might not otherwise see themselves as future entrepreneurs — and encourage them to try on the possibility.
Based on research and award-winning courses at Penn State University’s College of Education, the Accelerator Rap! project includes educational music videos, lesson plans, family activities, and other resources.
