We are now in the last month of school. Everyone is preparing for finals, moving out and what their summer plans will be. For others, some are trying to find a cheap place to live, another job or two and trying to finish paying off the semester. The end of the semester can lead to great summer memories or creating stressful ones. Some students are freaking out because they have no place to go. They either cannot afford a place to live or do not have anywhere to go in the mean time. Some people will be working three jobs this summer to pay off the spring semester and try to save money for the upcoming fall semester. Some students won’t be going to the beach pr spending time with friends. They will be working an average of 20 hours a day, seven days a week. Of course until classes start again in August. Most students cannot wait to go home and go to the beach, sleep in and relax. Others cannot wait for classes to end so they can work more and actually make some money instead of wasting time in class. Not all students understand the stress college can actually bring. Some students believe they are strong and independent, but in reality they are not. Their parents pay for the schooling, housing and give them allowances. Not many students understand that other students work to survive, pay for their bills and education. Not all students know that some have it harder/easier than they do. Most kids believe college is supposed to be fun, but in reality its not always. Balancing three jobs and two majors makes you good at time management. However, you are sleep deprived and emotionally and physically exhausted. For these students there is no time to party, sleep in or hangout with friends. These are the students who are independent, who have witnessed the real world first hand, and who are constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. The end of the year is not as exciting for some college students.
