Interview

We interviewed Yoo Rhim, Lee (South Korean, Junior, Media Studies major) about South Korean and United States media.

1. Do you watch Korean dramas or movies often?

2. Korean dramas and movies are really popular among other nations. Why do you think they are so popular?

3. Do you watch any American drama?

4. Do you watch American films often?

5. Are they mostly “blockbuster” movies from Hollywood?

6. What do you think the biggest differences between South Korea drama and Unites States drama?

7. Why do you think that American movies and TV dramas/shows are so well-received in South Korea (and in other nations as well)?

8. Do you consider the language boundary a real restriction on the content you choose to consume?

9. Do you find, as a South Korean, that some of the content or scenarios found in American shows or movies are difficult to understand or follow? What cultural elements may be the source of this (if there are difficulties?)
