These are easy-to-organize events for college campuses, providing opportunities for faculty to discuss their newest publications with other faculty, staff, and students.
If your college or university sponsors a common reading experience for your students, the library is the perfect venue to hold related events; such as book discussions, faculty-led talks on themes or topics from the book, and student-led activities.

PENN STATE LAUREATE EVENTS
Dr. John Champagne, professor at Penn State Erie, was named the Penn State Laureate for 2018-19. He toured the state, including the Penn State York campus, asking questions about — and offering a historical perspective on — the role of the artist in times of political turmoil.
ConnectED hosted several preview events including a film screening and film discussion prior to the Laureate Lecture.
POETRY READINGS
Poetry readings are amazing events on our campus. One of our English instructors, who is also a poet, arranges for poets to come to campus to speak to his classes and also provide an event in the library. In 2016, we had a wonderful session featuring, Joseph Bathanti, a Pennsylvania native and former North Carolina Poet Laureate.
In April of 2018, York's Poet Laureate was joined by three of the city's previous Laureates, for "The Poetry of York: Laureates Past and Present."
