Building Permit Submission (BPS)

The Building Permit Submission (BPS) process is used to manage the request, receipt, and closure of building permits, including the receipt of the certificate of occupancy. This process should be used for the initial building permit as well as any deferred submissions. This process is required on all projects that require a building permit.

NOTE: In addition to the Building Permit Submission (BPS) process, a separate submission must be made to PA Labor & Industry, either by mail or the online goPost portal, to obtain a building permit.

Work performed under Annual Permits is not tracked using this process. Use the Building Permit Determination (BPD) form and process for tracking Annual Permit work.
