Design Decision Request (DDR)

The Design Decision Request (DDR) process is used to document design decisions and make it easier for project team members to reference the history of design decisions. A PSU OPP member, PSU Facility Coordinator, Designer, or Contractor (for design-build or design assist delivery) initiates the process to ask one or more recipients for a design decision. This process is used during the period from project initiation up until contract documents are accepted by the CM-GC. The process recipient may send the process to additional reviewers or use e-Builder’s request comment feature to receive input prior to responding. The PSU Project Leader reviews and closes the process.
