Penn State now requires Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for our external Trimble Unity Construct users. MFA is an electronic authentication method in which a user is granted access to a website after successfully presenting evidence to an authentication mechanism.
You will need to have an authenticator application installed in order to login to your Penn State Trimble Unity Construct account. Please refer to the links below to install an authenticator. You will either need an authenticator app loaded on your smartphone or you can load the Authenticator Extension in Windows on your computer.
If you got a new computer or a new phone, you will need to set up the multi-factor authentication again. You will need to email mlm3@psu.edu and jad306@psu.edu to get a new MFA verification email sent out to you.
Google Authenticator Setup on Mobile Device
If you want to use the smartphone option, follow one of these methods below:
- If you already have one of the following authenticator apps (Sophos Authenticator (IOS & Android), Google Authenticator (IOS), LastPass (IOS), Okta Verify (IOS) or Duo Mobile (IOS)) installed on your phone that you are utilizing for other 2-factor authentication, then you can just add the account to the app. We do not have specific instructions for each app; however, you can utilize these instructions starting with STEP 2 to get Trimble Unity Construct added to your existing app: Authenticate with Google Authenticator.
- If you do not have an authenticator app, you will need to install Google Authenticator. Click on this link: Authenticate with Google Authenticator for instructions to get the app installed. You may also need to set up a google account prior to installing the app.
