About:

Each year, EEHR and PHRC (Pennsylvania Housing Research Center) support the Penn State Race to Zero team. The Race to Zero competition has been facilitated by the Department of Energy since 2014; it challenges collegiate teams to apply sound building science principles to create cost-effective, market-ready designs that meet DOE’s Zero Energy Ready Home program requirements. Penn State has participated in this competition each year since 2014 and has consistently partnered with a local housing organization for providing the site and context.
