Our Research is Almost Complete!

During quarantine, we have continued to research our topic of habitat destruction. Working together we have split up the research components and will come together tomorrow to put it all together into our essay. Tomorrow is a big day for our progress in the EACAP project! After this, we can begin our presentation! Have a nice day everyone.

A fun fact for the day:

Habitat destruction is when a habitat can no longer sustain its resources to keep its community of animals alive. This can occur because of us cutting down trees, building developments or even naturally from wildfires.

CRC Green Team Summary Post

Connor, Ryan, and I worked as a team to research invasive species. We learned all of the invasive species in our area in Berks County such as the spotted lantern fly. Throughout our project, we learned the importance of awareness for invasive species. Also, we indulged into many hours of research that included causes, consequences, solutions, etc. about invasive species. The project taught us a lot about the importance of invasive species. We gained knowledge about invasive species that we would of never known before. Also, we gained the greater understanding of how they work. Our message is that awareness of these invasive species is crucial in order for prevention and any solutions that come to be.

Nature Minions: A Discovery From Our Research!

Hello,

As our team is delving deeper into research on our bee problem, we have discovered something cool. The Penn State Agriculture department has their own website for research on Pollinators. Their goal is to do more research on pollinator species, in order to improve their health. It is a bummer that we couldn’t get hands on information with our service component, but we are excited to share what we found during our research!

Check out the link: https://ento.psu.edu/pollinators/

The Mambas still got this in the bag!

We had a zoom meeting today and helped each other out with our research report and PowerPoint! We discussed what we should discuss in our research report and PowerPoint. We miss working with each other in person! #thisvirusgotttaaagoooo!

In class work!

Hey guys! Ryan, Colin, Bryson and I began working on our research paper today! Professor Kazempour gave us 20 minutes of work time so we got a lot of details done! We divided up the work equally and are doing our paper on Invasive species and their effects on the environment! We also scheduled our next service time!

Green Hat

Green Hat’s first day of building a birdhouse for PSU Greenhouse.

These two pictures are Luke, and Zhuoqian digging holes to hold birdhouse. The hole needs to be deep enough to help the birdhouse preventing the strong wind.

This is an unhatchable bird egg we found from the birdhouse.

1st day out on the trail!

Hey guys! Yesterday the Air-breathers got the chance to begin our service hours. Our day began with observing the area and identifying the primary locations where our invasive species of honeysuckle was! Once we spotted an area with a lot, we got to work! We started removing the honeysuckle and loading it into trash bags. We all had a lot of fun and shared a lot of laughs on Friday. We’re excited to continue working on the trail and hope to eliminate most of the honeysuckle!!
