Welcome to the Marian Garcia International Piano Competition and Festival page! Hosted by the Penn State School of Music’s piano faculty, this year’s event, held on November 2-3, 2023, features guest artist in residence, Jonathan Bass, Professor of Piano at Boston Conservatory. The festival was created through a generous grant from Edith Garcia, mother of local physician Dr. Marian Garcia.

• 12-1 pm  RECITAL HALL – “Technique: A Means to a Musical End’ Lecture by Prof. Jonathan Bass
• 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. RECITAL HALL – Masterclass by Prof. Bass featuring Penn State undergraduate and graduate students
