You’re Invited to German Day 2023

It is our pleasure to invite you and your students to German Day at Penn State on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. The event will take place at the Hetzel Union building (HUB), University Park campus, State College, from 10:15 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.

Our College of Liberal Art has chosen sustainability to be this year’s theme for their moments of change initiative(https://la.psu.edu/current-students/undergraduate-students/moments-of-change/creating-a-livable-planet), and the German program decided to follow along. Hence, our overall theme for German Day 2023 will be “Nachhaltigkeit,” and our slogan will be “Langfristig Lebenswert!”

Our German Day’ capacity remains at 500 participants. We would greatly appreciate if you could confirm your attendance, provide us with an approximate number of attendees (teachers/chaperons and students), and indicated what level of German your students have (Level 1: 1st or 2nd year German, Level 2: 2nd or 3rd year German, Level 3: 4th or 5th year German) by December 15, 2022.

The sooner we know who is coming the better. However, we understand some may not be able to provide that information immediately.

Although we are still in the process of putting together an awesome program for you and your students, we are happy to announce the following design contests:

  • Stoffbeutel Design Contest (submission deadline: February 15, 2023)
  • Poster Design Contest (submission deadline: March 1, 2023)
  • Movie Design Contest (submission deadline: March 1, 2023)
