Nebraska’s Football Team Faces No “Values”

Tom Osborne, the coach of Nebraska’s college football team was known as a legend back in his time. Throughout the seasons of the ‘90s, the “values” of the Nebraska team seem to of got out of control… Way out of control. Basically how people think of it is that Osborne was a coach who got sick of losing the big one. He decided to give a damn about the team “values” because he had football games to win! Basically this means that no matter what trouble the players cause legally, it wouldn’t matter to him as long as he is winning his football games.

Because of Osborne’s lack of action towards anything, his players were out of control! For instance there was the heart of Nebraska’s defense, which was led by Christian Peters. He was arrested 8 times from different assaults and raping multiple women. The worst part was his teammates were keeping a lookout during this all the time! How repulsive right? The worst part was that nothing happened to him. He ended up being an all-conference player as a senior!
There also was star running back Lawrence Phillips. He was arrested as a junior beating up and terrorizing his girlfriend. He got suspended for sometime but was able to come back and lead the team to the Fiesta Bowl National Championship.

That was only 2 of the many outrageous things that went on within this Nebraska football team. They never got any severe punishment from the NCAA which is what makes this so scandalous. However, things for Lawrence Philips did not stay all good as he was sentenced to 31 years in prison for his various assault charges.
