Cultural Leadership blog

Introduction Post | Yanin Cancio

Hi Everyone,

My name is Yanin Cancio and I live in South Florida with my husband, our two daughters, and a rambunctious Weimaraner. This is my fourth semester at Penn State and I am projected to graduate Summer 2020 with a BA in Organizational Leadership.

I currently work on an HR team in a tech company that has a presence in 26 countries. My responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and internal communications. Due to our workforce being highly diverse, I feel this course will be deeply beneficial to me and my career.

In my spare time, I like to discover new eats in FL and visit new places with my family. I look forward to having an engaging semester with you all!

Introduction Post

Hello everyone,

This is a first for me I have never done a blog before, so I’m not sure of what to do or say. I am a senior, and this will be my last semester at PSU I am taking two classes at PSU and two courses at the community college, and I will have them transferred so then I will graduate with my B.S.LER, Labor and Employment Relations. I have lived my entire life in South Jersey about 10 mins from Atlantic City, where I work as a chef in a restaurant at one of the casinos. I’m not sure what is the difference of doing this blog here or doing it on canvas? I have a pretty simple life just work and school right now no wife or girlfriend, so it’s just me in my townhouse. I like to travel so I try to get away as much as I can so I will be going to FL in February for two weeks and will be going to the Poconos two times this summer, and again to FL for the first two weeks in December. I like music, movies, sports, spending time with family and friends like I said simple things.

Hi everyone!

My name is Alaina O’Connor. I am from Pittsburgh, PA and this is currently my last semester, so I am stoked that I only have 3 classes left and am hoping to have a successful and fulfilling final semester. I currently work full time as an HR Specialist for a large healthcare staffing agency.

I have done personal blog posts in the past, but I have never done it in a classroom setting so I am already really enjoying the format and platform for this course. I am hoping that we all get the hang of utilizing this as I think it will keep the course interesting, fun, and modern.

I look forward to working with each and everyone one of you! I am just an email away, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you need anything.

I wish you all the best of luck this semester and look forward to hearing more from you!!

Introduction

Hi everyone!

My name is Anthony Trapani and I’m in the LER program and currently in my 6th semester at Penn State World Campus.

I’m a native New Yorker and I live in Manhattan just a few avenues away from Times Square. It’s nice because I can see the lights and craziness of Times Square but where I live is actually far enough from the hectic crowds that the area attracts.

Academically, I’m interested in the world of Labor Relations and how I can improve people teams in the companies I work from.

Looking forward to working with you all this semester!
