1. Who can apply to the PULSE Program?
Any student interested in science/medicine in grades 9-12 for the Fall of 2019. Student MUST have earned a B- or better in one of the following courses: Biology, Honors Biology, Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Biology, or AP Chemistry.
2. Do I need a letter of recommendation?
Yes, the PULSE application requires ONE letter of recommendation from either a science teacher or a guidance counselor.
3. When will the PULSE application 2019 be available?
The PULSE application will be available on March 1, 2019.
4. When is the deadline for the application?
The deadline for PULSE 2019 has been set for May 31, 2019 at 11:59PM. All materials including the primary application, transcripts, and letters of recommendation must be submitted by then in order for your application to be considered.
5. I was a PULSE Honors/PULSE Stars student last year. How do I reapply?
Congrats on being a Scholar! First, make sure that you select the appropriate “PULSE Honors/PULSE Star” option on the application. This year, when you complete your application, you will be required to submit the essays, but no letter of recommendation.
6. Is transportation provided?
We are working on providing transportation for certain locations far from Hershey, however at this time we cannot guarantee it.
7. What is the schedule for PULSE 2019?
PULSE will be on Mondays from 4:00-6:30PM starting on September 9. The course is 12 weeks long with no class on Columbus Day (10/14/19)!
