Purpose:
The Penn State Physical Therapist Assistant program will maintain the rights and privileges of persons’ associated with the education program in regards to student records as stated in University Policy AD11, located at http://guru.psu.edu/policies/AD11.html.
Policy: All student information, electronic, hardcopy, grades, admission, advising records, etc. will be secured.
Procedure:
- All student information is to be stored in a filing cabinet behind a locked door or locked cabinet.
- All computers are protected by a password.
- Filing cabinets or doors are to be locked if faculty &/or staff are not present.
- Both filing cabinets and offices should be secured upon leaving the building.
- Staff and faculty are the only ones who have access to student records.
- The review of student performance and records, by faculty/advisor are discussed in private only in relevance to the program consistent with FERPA policies.
- CCCEs and Cls are informed that student records are to be kept private and they receive information about FERPA policies.
