Every year at the Pennsylvania State University, the Horticulture Club develops and manages a display show in which it provides funding to the club. The Horticulture Show usually takes part during the university’s homecoming weekend in early October as a two day weekend event in which visitors can walk through the landscape for free. As mentioned, this show funds the club and is the biggest fundraiser the club holds for the year. All the plant material shown in the landscape is all donated by either landscape companies or nurseries within the mid-Atlantic region including Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. With the donated materials, they are sold at the show to any willing buyers and we usually ask that they come pick up the materials at the end of the show, that way the landscape can remain looking full and aesthetic. The club also sells fresh produce, apple cider, pumpkins, ornamental corn, house plants, and lastly, Chrysanthemums (just in time for full bloom!).
