Participants of the 2013-2014 program had this to say about the ID-2-ID program:
The ID-2-ID program is a good way to create a sense of connection and community among people serving in similar roles within a very large University.
On gaining new perspectives:
My practice in ID was enhanced by hearing the experiences of another ID in a different environment.
It’s helpful to have a glimpse of a learning design workflow from a different part of the University.
The ability to gain perspectives from a colleague in a safe and comfortable format without pressure or expectations was a refreshing and worthwhile experience.
It was really helpful to see what an ID who manages online learning processes does. This is vastly different from what I do on my campus, so I learned a lot!
On professional growth and collaboration:
Great opportunity to connect with another designer and have a professional connection to bounce ideas off each other and grow in design skills.
Great to have 1-on-1 support, especially for those of us who work alone.”
I have learned a great deal…we were able to share some of our processes with each other and even implement some of these into each others’ unit.”
On pair dynamics:
I have learned so much from my ID buddy. The matching process done by the team really worked out well for us. I felt like we each had strengths that we could share with each other.
This was a very valuable experience! I’m sure I learned as much from my mentee as she did from me.
I went into the ID-2-ID buddy program with the intent of growing my professional network. I ended up gaining not only a colleague with great insight and professionalism, but also a friend.
