Enrichment Courses

IECP Enrichment courses are tied to core courses; students with any 130 or 140-level core courses take intermediate-level enrichment courses. Students with only 150 or 160-level core courses take advanced-level enrichment courses.

Enrichment courses are divided into two strands: skill-based and theme-based. The skill-based courses primarily focus on language skill development such as reading, spelling, or pronunciation. The theme-based enrichment courses present opportunities for students to apply their developing skills to topics of interest such as art, science, and civic engagement. Language and theme-based enrichment courses develop transferable skills that students employ in their core courses.

Likewise, core courses, provided incremental and scaffolded instruction that may applied in enrichment courses.
