“Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

Immigration is a contentious, politically-charged, oft-misunderstood area of law. The word often evokes images of faceless, riotous crowds forcing their way over the border, stealing jobs and leaving economic devastation in their wake. As students passionate about the practice of immigration law, the Immigration Law Blog seeks to remedy that image through thoughtful and well-researched articles that portray the truth of immigration in the United States.

The Penn State Law Immigration Law Blog is a student-edited, student-run, interdisciplinary blog operated by the Immigration Law Society at Penn State Law.

The Blog includes scholarly articles and student commentary focusing on current issues and developments in immigration law, including scholarly discourses, opinion pieces, and analyses of current affairs in every field within immigration, as well as guest submissions by immigration lawyers and professionals.

The Blog promotes academic and public discourse in immigration law covering a range of topics including but not limited to: public policy analyses, gender and immigration, family rights, refugee policy, diasporic populations, bilateral immigration issues, asylum, climate refugees, and more. We promise to publish a diverse range of articles on current immigration law issues and developments.

As the only publication at Penn State Law specifically focused on immigration matters, the Immigration Law Blog diligently tackles difficult immigration issues, seeking to summarize the immigration issues of the day in bite-size, easy-to-understand short essays. Our talented team of diverse Resident Student Bloggers and Blog Editors consists of students from various countries, ethnicities, backgrounds, and experiences; offering all of our readers a unique and global perspective on a wide array of topics and issues.

Each month, the Immigration Law Blog features two to three blog-styled articles written by our Resident Student Bloggers. To learn more about this year’s Resident Student Bloggers and Blog Editors, be sure to check out the Masthead!
