A Deloitte information session was held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 6:00 pm in 103 Leonhard building. Two Penn State alumni Kalpesh Munot and Rahul Gandhi, who are working at Deloitte, presented for Penn State Industrial Engineering students. It was the first session held by Deloitte for Industrial Engineers. The session was a huge success. More than 80 students attended the information session.

Deloitte is one of the “Big Four” professional services firms along with Pwc, EY, and KPMG. It provides audit, tax, consulting, enterprise risk and financial advisory services with more than 200,000 professionals in over 150 countries.

The presenters talked about what is consulting, what do they do, how to become a consultant and how does Industrial Engineering and Operations Research connect with consulting. During the presentation, many students asked questions, for instance, what skills are needed for students who want to become a consultant? What types of problems will consultants face, and how industrial engineers can solve them etc. The presentation from the session can be downloaded here.
