This year, we wish we could hold an in-person gathering like Happy Valley’s previous years to celebrate Yalda together. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and prioritizing our community’s health and well-being, we plan to celebrate this year’s Yalda Night with a set of virtual events. Nothing can stop us from being creative to serve the Iranian community in this challenging time!
1- We are more than happy to announce that ISA will be hosting a Virtual Yalda Night with Mohsen Namjoo on Monday, December 21st, 2020, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM (EST). Mohsen Namjoo will give a talk about “Rhythm in Persian Poetry.”
Following his lecture, we’ll have a Q&A session. Please mark your calendar and join us.
2- Being an International Student in the United States is challenging. We all have to pay close attention to every single aspect of our daily lives in this country. That’s why it is vital to acknowledge our rights. We invited Elham Sadri, a consummate lawyer specializing in problematic Nationality and Immigration Law (Principal at Sadri Law and Penn State Law Alumna), to walk us through all we need to know as an international student in the United States.
Following her lecture, we will have a Q&A section, and you can ask all your questions about your immigration status. This event will be held on Sunday, December 20th, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (EST).
3- Masnavi Manavi Club would like to invite you to join its Yalda gathering on Thursday, December 17th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (EST). Join us to learn more about the group, its members, and play games with great prizes.
