AI vs. human

Recently an AI defeated human champion at a video game called Gran Turismo, AI defeating human is probably something you might heard of everyday, since AI’s learning mechanism is way better than us human, there is one thing that AI was lacking is humanity, but from winning Gran Turismo, it may alter this fact.

“To hurtle around a corner along the fastest “racing line” without losing control, race car drivers must brake, steer and accelerate in precisely timed sequences.” (2022, Sophie Bushwick) seems easy for AI to get familiar with, since they can simulate over and over again to find the optimum angle or timing, but there is one thing need to point out is that if driver catch up with another driver with an uncomfortable way, whoever try to pass its opponent should give up its position, “uncomfortable way” is something hard to explain, sounds like something only human brain would understand, yet AI figure it out and beat human champion, this news could be a breaking point for AI, also could be a warning to us. Till today, AI beats us possibly every single industry field, the most important one I think is the DARPA Alphadogfight, on 20th august 2020, AI defeated human F-16 jet fighter, AI was able to shoot accurately while doing crazy high dynamic maneuvers, and AI could endure more G-value without passing out, so will we stop making end-game human extinguisher? Or should we be more careful about what we are working on

  1. When it comes to artificial intelligence vs humans, the first thing I think of is the movie “Terminator 2”. If you have not seen this movie then I can see why you would want to replace humans with artificial intelligence. This movie was made in 1991 where people just saw this as a cool action movie, but as time goes on and our technology becomes more advanced, the possibility of these events happening are more likely. I personally think that when it comes to artificial intelligence, us humans should just be careful of how we use A.I. I am all for replacing humans with artificial intelligence when it comes to certain things such as: dangerous/ risky jobs, fast food workers, car factories, etc. I am totally against having artificial intelligence in any kind of position where they can destroy humanity.

  2. AI has been developing in a lightning speed. It makes most of the things automated which is a major threat to unemployment. It is cheaper, accurate and more efficient compared to humans. AI can teach itself too, the more we use AI, more data it acquires about us hence, becomes even more accurate than before. As discussed above, AI has proven to beat the smartest of minds in their specialty. In my opinion, AI has been menacing more than ever. It’s only a matter of time until it gets worse.

  3. When it comes to artificial intelligence vs humans in racing, it makes sense that the AI wins. Artificial intelligence has the capability of running thousands if not millions of simulations of different racing lines, and throttle positions for each of those racing lines in order to find what combination leads to the fastest lap. The interesting point that you make is when the AI tries to pass another car, because there is not a given formula for how this will work or what the other driver will do. When it comes to autonomous driving, the artificial intelligence can just slow down when it comes to a point where it is unsure what to do due to human’s actions, but obviously that is not optimal in racing. That is an interesting point that you bring up when you bring up the F-16 fighter jet. Human’s can only with stand so many G forces before they pass out or can even die, where the actual plane and computers in the airplane can with stand much more than a human. As long as the fighter jet knows exactly where the human jet is, I will bet on the AI jet to take out the human every single time.

  4. What was once used to help basic computer-mediated tasks, Artificial Intelligence (named by John McCarthy in 1955) has continued to be further developed that now is aiming to surpass human intelligence altogether. With continuous progression and performance success, it is believed that the diversification of AI will eventually lead to this technology being implemented in all fields of life. It was found that “connections are made which can be imitated by using silicon and wires in AI similar to living neurons and dendrites in humans. (The Computer Journal, 1).” All major tech companies such as Apple, Google and Microsoft have all effectively carried out AI services instead of employing humans. Due to this popularity, every company is taking advantage of the new technological discoveries to build their own AI to lower production costs. Beyond this, our society is looking at fully autonomous trucks, cars, and aircraft to be produced in the future, in hopes of lowering accident rates that humans inherently cause. It is widely deliberated that AI will fully take over human intelligence in about forty to fifty years, leading to faster and more productive work. However, some people believe there are many downsides to AI such as thousands of people being unemployed due to the use of AI at a cheaper rate. With the product already built and now in the adjustment stage, the idea of AI intelligence taking over all human jobs in a matter of time seems somewhat inevitable, although it is still going to be a while until the technology is perfected.
