TechSupport is a first-person shooter where the goal is to get the highest score before you run out of lives.
In TechSupport, the hero’s computer has been infected by malware. The only way for them to get their computer functioning again is to go into the computer and destroy the malware themselves using whatever means are at their disposal.

We had been dealing with issues regarding collaboration, but we mostly resolved learning how to utilize Version Control. So far, we’re still planning on implementing a narrative but we’re going to have the gameplay be more survival with hordes of enemies and possibly adding a player score. Currently, we have multiple planned enemy types and up to four different weapons for the player to utilize.
Randy the Running Robot is an infinite running-style game that was created by Kenny Arentz, Nicholas D’agostino, Raymond E. Jones III, Tyler Martin, and Roger Salguero utilizing Unity software.
Randy the Running Robot is set in a dystopian future, where mutant indifferent green creatures (known as Stevies) chase innocent robots (known as Randys). As a Randy, the player seeks to outrun a Stevie all while evading flying missiles that plague the city.

The game starts with the player controlling a robot named Randy whose goal is to infinitely run away from an ever-chasing threat known as a Stevie while evading oncoming flying missiles. When first starting Randy the Running Robot, the player will notice that there are only two controls to learn in the game – [down arrow] to crouch-run and [up arrow] to jump and double jump. The player must use these controls evade the missiles and collect floating wrenches, which serve as “energy” for Randy to keep running away from the Stevie. If Randy goes too long without collecting a wrench, he will, unfortunately, slow down and get caught by the Stevie.
A score component was added to the game that is based on the distance Randy travels in-game, with the highest of these scores being saved as a “high score” and being displayed permanently on the “game over” screen.
Crawl is a roguelike game with singleplayer and up to 4-person local multiplayer. Multiplayer is typically facilitated by the use of controllers, or with multiple wireless keyboards (not fully supported). A game must have at least two players, although three or four is more balanced even if AI-controlled players must be added. All players start as human characters in the first room, but to progress they must attack one another until only one is left standing. The last surviving player will become the first hero, and the players that were defeated will become ghosts. Ghosts are capable of flinging objects, activating traps, collecting ectoplasm to summon slime monster minions, or activating summoning circles to randomly take control of a monster available to them. If a player kills the hero as a ghost, the hero will become a ghost and the ghost who killed him will transform back into a human and become the current hero. The ultimate goal of the game is to progress through the dungeon and beat the boss they are presented with in order to attain salvation.
City Siege is a war game in which a small army sets out to gain control of the island filled with different factions. It is a 2D, physics-based, PC game in which a dependable army is slowly built by playing through the levels and earning points for your wins. Each level is unique and has some combinations of challenges for the player to overcome. Some levels are a race against time to defeat the enemy while other are simply a matter of overcoming the enemy. Another interesting twist that was put in the game is hostages. On several levels, there are hostages that need to be rescued so all out bombing and shooting is not an option.
Metal Gear Solid 3 is a Cold War based stealth game. Players take control of the main character “Snake” in their attempt to series of enemies all working for the main antagonist “Volkin”. The game mechanics rely heavily on the realistic features such footsteps, noise, distractions, and camouflage that can be used to avoid or take down enemies. Although the core mechanics of the game are unbelievably realistic for its time, the plot itself is a bit over the top. Volkin is an electrified human being who has enough power to control a tank called the Shagohad. The Shagohad is meant to help Volkin take over the world.
The Room Three is a surprisingly well done game for the Android and iOS platform. The game begins in a train car with stunningly detailed graphics considering it was being played on an iPhone 6. The player will first find a letter from “The Craftsman” that both lures and warns the player about entering the rooms. Of course, the player will soon find themselves locked in a room. To proceed to new areas of the game, the player must find clues, keys, parts, and solve all types of puzzles and riddles. The Room Three is not just a single room as the name implies, but a series of aesthetically impressive, and puzzling, rooms and landscapes. The series of rooms were divided into chapters. One of the most fun chapters took place in an old-time sawmill. Gears had to be found to transfer power to the needed tools. A block of wood had to be cut with a saw and used as kindling to spark a flame in a forge. The forge was then used to form a key to unlock a chest. The proper shape of the key had to be forged or it would not work. There were various clues around the room to properly shape the key. The Room Three is sure to fulfill the definition of fun for a very large audience.
Infamous is a game that revolves around the life and adventures of the main character named Cole. After surviving an explosion, Cole wakes up confused and hurt wondering why he survived the explosion and what he just went through. Eventually, he gets in contact with his friend Zeke and Zeke helps him find a way out of the place he woke up from. As the player guides Cole out of the explosion site, Cole realizes he has abilities surging through him that permit him to manipulate electricity from various sources. As the game progresses, Zeke serves as an alias to Cole and the player controls Cole throughout the game. The objective of the game then becomes to explore the city in which the explosion happened and master Cole’s powers to be good or evil. [Read more…]
Pixel Privateers is a retro styled, 16-bit, side scrolling adventure gaming set in space. Having traveled through an intergalactic wormhole, you are tasked with finding a way to return home. The means to get home, restore the relics and stabilize the wormhole, is set in stone, but how you get to the goal is broad and varied. [Read more…]
The Zelda series has been around since 1986 spanning 18+ games on Nintendo’s major game consoles with the main attraction being the creative and immersive world that guides players through each of the stories. The latest edition, Breath of the Wild (BotW), has been released with Nintendo’s new console, the Nintendo Switch. Luckily for Nintendo, the established name of Zelda along with positive game reviews remains arguably the number one (maybe only) reason most have splurged on the new technology. The game itself remains in the same world as many remember before, where our main character, Link, is tasked with saving the kingdom of Hyrule and princess Zelda, from the evil Ganon that rules over the land. Link must adventure through Hyrule defeating enemies along the way though strength, creativity, and resourcefulness of the world around him. Luckily for Zelda and the rest of the world, Ganon is willing to wait 100+ years to destroy everything because the best parts of this game are in the little details and it might take a while to find them all.
