The idea of passions for a college freshman can seem to be somewhat of a contradictory topic. After entering this place and time billed as one of “discovery” and “figuring out your life,” I’ve been thinking more about what I want to do in the future and less about what I love to do now. Only a short list came to mind when I tried to decipher my passions – music, sports (particularly golf and football,) and going to the gym. Aside from family, faith, and school, these are the topics that pass through my mind every day. However, the format of a blog stands out to me as a way to introduce others to new ideas and topics and to open discussion. For this reason, I look forward to blogging about the major aspect of my life and the lives of others that is music. Through looking at current and classic albums of various genres from swing to hip-hop, I hope to give readers a better understanding of these masterpieces of sound and audio production. Along with this, I see blog posts as a way to introduce others to artists, genres, and more that they would not have usually inquired about in the hopes that a new appreciation for music as a whole can be discovered through reading my articles.
