Iraq has one of the deepest and oldest cultures in the world. So much so, that this section had to be split into multiple sections. Iraq’s illustrious culture was and is so influential, that it helped shaped all cultures of the Old World. Iraq is on the land where the powerful civilization of Sumer once thrived. The Wheel and writing were both invented in Sumer.
